Boron nitride coatings are used in non-ferrous metal casting and extrusion etc. dies in order to generate surfaces with high temperature resistance and low wettability. Thus prevent sticking of molten metal and slag on die surfaces. Boron nitride coatings can withstand higher temperatures than graphite coatings.
