Water-based BORTEK 11 is suitable for die casting and forging process of zinc, aluminum and brass alloys.
Clean the die, that BORTEK 11 will be applied; from dirt, oil, molten metal residue and slag. Dilute BORTEK 11 by ten to twenty times according to complexity of your part and stir it well.
1-Application by brush
1.1- Use a soft brush to apply the coating without piling and with uniform thickness on the surface.
1.2- Wait for a while for the first coating to dry. If the coating is too thick it can cause to peeling or cracking.
1.3-Apply second coat after first coat dried. Thickness of coating should be 50-100 microns.
1.4-Clean brush after applying the coating.
2-Application by paint spray gun
2.1- Before using with a spray gun BORTEK 11 should be shaken throughly. Then Bortek 11 can be applied by spray gun with a nozzle of 1 to 1.5 mm diameter and at pressure of 6-8 bar from a distance of 30 cm to generate a uniform thickness on the surface.
2.2-Wait for a while for the first coating to dry. If the coating is too thick it can cause to peeling or cracking.
2.3- Apply second coat after first coat dried. Thickness of coating should be 50-100 microns.
2.4-Clean paint spray gun after application.
The frequency of application by brush or paint spray gun can be determined by experiments. Usually Bortek 11 should be applied less frequently than other die lubricants. |
