HBN is not wetted by liquid metals and alloys, such as aluminum magnesium, zinc and copper. BORTEK 11 is a mold release agent containing hexagonal boron nitride and maintains its properties up to 1000°C, reacting with neither mold nor metal. It is water-based and environmentally friendly. By forming a thin film on mold surfaces, it acts as a lubricant and separator between metal and mold.
