HEXAGONAL BORON NITRIDE

Hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) is an artificial substance with a hexagonal crystal structure. Atoms are connected to each other with strong covalent bonds and the layers  are connected to each other by weak Van der Waals bonds. Because of this crystal structure, hBN has  several unique properties . Some of these are as follows:

- Super solid lubricant
- High temperature stability up to 1000 C,
- Non-wetting by melted metal, glass and slag,
- Biocompatible and  non-toxic,
- Inert material with high thermal conductivity,
- High resistance to thermal shock,
- High resistance to chemicals,
- Electrically non-conductive,
- Possesses high UV reflectivity

BORTEK has established its core competency on producing high purity, medical grade  submicron-sized hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and its end products. BORTEK’s hBN is produced using a special syhentizing process and is different from its competitors. BORTEK has developed several products to help solve important problems faced by humanity.
